The Digital Marketing & Promotions Specialist is responsible for supporting the strategic development, execution, and optimization of Cost.U.Less’ digital marketing initiatives, promotional campaigns, and brand messaging. This role plays a key part in driving customer engagement, maintaining brand consistency, and enhancing promotional performance through digital content creation, loyalty marketing, campaign analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.
Primary responsibilities include management of social media content and digital campaigns, oversight of the WhatsApp Loyalty Program, development and deployment of email marketing initiatives, promotional coupon setup and analysis, and participation in promotional post-mortem reporting and insights.
This role also contributes to the development and execution of promotional branding initiatives, including campaign messaging, signage support, marketing templates, and customer-facing creative assets across digital and in-store channels. In addition, the position supports the execution of monthly promotional advertising through ad proofing, messaging guidance, and collaboration with merchants, graphic designers, and store teams to help ensure brand standards and promotional objectives are consistently achieved.

Key Accountabilities:

- Develop and execute the social media content calendar across all Cost.U.Less markets
- Create compelling digital content, copywriting, and campaign messaging aligned with brand standards and promotional priorities
- Support brand consistency across digital platforms, promotional messaging, and customer-facing marketing materials
- Assist with social media paid advertising strategy and campaign optimization

- Manage the Cost.U.Less WhatsApp Loyalty Program, including monthly campaigns, coupon deployment, subscriber engagement, and promotional communications
- Coordinate promotional coupon setup, testing, and execution across digital marketing channels
- Assist in analysis of promotional performance, coupon redemption trends, and customer engagement metrics
- Participate in promotional post-mortem reporting and provide recommendations for future campaign optimization

- Assist in development of new digital marketing initiatives and customer engagement strategies

- Assist with development and distribution of in-store signage, event marketing materials, and special promotional assets as needed

Desired Skills & Experience:
- 3–5 years of previous experience in Digital Marketing, Social Media Marketing, Content Creation, or related marketing field required
- Previous experience managing branded social media accounts and executing multi-channel digital marketing campaigns
- Strong understanding of brand standards, promotional messaging, and customer-facing marketing communications
- Experience creating digital content using Canva or similar creative design platforms required
- Experience using social media scheduling and publishing tools preferred (Meltwater preferred but not required)
- Experience with email marketing platforms and campaign deployment required (Tekside or similar email marketing software preferred)
- Understanding of digital marketing analytics, customer engagement metrics, and campaign performance reporting
- Experience supporting promotional campaigns, loyalty marketing programs, or customer engagement initiatives preferred
- Strong copywriting, proofreading, and communication skills required
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced retail environment
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail required
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with merchants, designers, store teams, and external partners
- Intermediate knowledge of advertising principles, promotional marketing, and retail branding
- Intermediate knowledge of website/e-commerce content management preferred
- Previous video editing, photography, or short-form content creation experience considered an asset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, including intermediate Excel skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

- Must be able to clearly and effectively communicate with employees from the C-suite to the store level
